A 22 Year Fraudstar Arrested At Accra Mall Under The Pretext Of Selling Iphones. [Photo]

Vincent Tawiah, a 22-year-old internet fraudster, was arrested at Accra Mall for defrauding innocent people under the guise of selling iPhones.

On Monday, May 10, 2021, officers from the National Police Operations Department arrested the suspect.

The suspect's strategy, according to the police, is to advertise the iPhones on Instagram and other social media sites for prices ranging from one thousand one hundred Ghana Cedis (GH1,100.00) to five thousand Ghana Cedis (GH5,000.00).

He was able to attract a large number of customers by offering iPhones at a lower price than the general market price.

When approached by interested parties, Vincent would instruct them to send mobile money to a phone account number registered in Rhydale Addae's name, according to the police.

Vincent will block the client after the money was sent and hold the money without handing over the iPhone. Police used one of his victims as bait to arrest him at the Accra Mall after receiving intelligence and tip-offs.

Other victims have come forward since then to accuse Vincent Tawiah of defrauding them.
