
Armed robbers have successfully robbed a bullion van in broad daylight of unspecified amount of money belonging to CAL Bank in the capital Accra. The unfortunate event happened at Baatsona on the Spintex Road.
According to eyewitnesses account, at about 3:30 pm, armed men in a black Toyota Camry rob the bullion van just opposite the Harvest Academy. However the registered number on the car GX 6337-14 which was obtained through a picture taken by a by stander turned out to be fake.
The driver account of event was similar to that of witnesses. The occupants of the bullion van are receiving treatment at the Hospital after suffering some injuries. The police has started an investigation into the unfortunate event.
Residents of the area will surely be alarmed after such a an incident happened in the day, they would be concerned about their safety at night. Police should increase security patrols in the area to avert any further unfortunate events.
