Ghanaians have reacted to a letter ordering MMDCEs and MMDCDs to contribute towards upcoming funeral in the country.
The letter head stated that: "CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS THE FINAL FUNERAL RITES OF THE LATE NANA BOANYINA ADUSEI MENSAH II-BOANIMHENE, FATHER OF THE HON, REGIONAL MINISTER, HON. KWABENA OKYERE DARKO MENSAH (MP)".
The body of the letter explained that: "Following a discussion with the Deans of the MMDCEs and MMDCDs on the above subject matter, it has been decided that your MMDA is to contribute the following amount towards the final funeral rites of the late father of the Hon. Regional Minster-Nana Boanyina Adusei Mensah II, Boanimhene which is scheduled to take place between 23 and 25th September, 2021 at Boanim in the Ashanti Region.
STMA, Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal, Ellembelle District
and Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assemblies - GHC 5,000.00 each. Ahanta West Municipal, Wassa Amenfi East Municipal, Wassa Amenfi West Municipal and Jomoro Municipal Assemblies-GHC 3,500.00 each. Wassa East District, Shama District, Wassa Amenfi Central District, Nzema East Municipal and Mpohor District Assemblies -GHT 2,000.00 each. All monies should be paid to the Regional Accountant - WRCC (Room 19) by close of work on Monday 20th September, 2021.

Ghanaians are very angry after seeing the letter shared by political activist kwame Asare Obeing A-Plus on social media today.
Some people are saying that they are very sad for Ghana because the country have enough money to cater for them but their leaders are using the money wrongfully.
Some people stated that "Really? So now, state money is meant for funding private funerals for Ministers? How can this happen if the president is in control. This is unacceptable".
