A fatal accident has killed two passengers while others are severely injured near Sronoase toll booth on the Kintampo- Tamale highway.
The accident which occurred on Tuesday, 9th March, 2021 involved a Sprinter bus and a faulty Tractor (Ford). The Tractor was heading to Kintampo Magazine for a repair work. And the Sprinter bus carrying 32 passengers was travelling from Bolgatanga to Sunyani. When the two vehicles was on a close range, the front tyre of the tractor fell off.The Sprinter bus in an attempt to save the passengers decided to swerve the car and reverse to avoid crashing with the tractor. But unfortunately the Sprinter slipped and crashed into the nearby bush.
A middle aged woman from the bus died on the spot. The rest of the passengers were transported to Kintampo Government hospital but unfortunately a two year old boy gave up the ghost at the hospital.
Four persons who were in a very critical condition were referred to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital for emergency treatment.
The rest of the passengers with less severe cases are receiving treatment at Kintampo Municipal Government Hospital.
