Crime Justice

Dr. Dampare working assiduously with Dr. Addison to face-out crime within the Banking sector

The newly appointed Inspector General of Police force has started laying down a road map to make sure that crime is clumped down upon within the banking sector.

This has been made known after a crunch meeting with the Bank of Ghana's Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison and some top officials within the banking sector.

In a post sighted on the Facebook page of the Ghana Police Service, it gave an assurance to the general public that its officers are in talks with the BoG and banking officials to make sure that there is sanity and peace for all who go to and fro any bank in the country.

This meeting was held within the headquarters of the Police Service. It is being reported that the Security officers together with the team of bankers have laid down new strategies to embark on these activities to prevent casuatlties and possible stealing and death related issues.

Recently, even before his appointment, it was recorded on several occasions how some Police Officers on escorts duties were brutally murdered in cold blood by unknown assailants who also made away with huge amounts of cash after their brutal attacks.

This prompted the then Inspector General of Police, Mr. Oppong Boanuh to give the banks a 'fare warning' to acquire 'proper' bullion vans or his men, thr Police officers are not risking their lives to follow their cash.

With that statement, there was a change and men in full military regalia were seen infront and at the back of their cars escorting their cash in town.
