He Was One Of The Best: Sad Spectacle As Police Pay Last Respect To The Late Constable Osei

The Ghana Police Service is paying it's last respect to late Constable Emmanuel Osei, the young Police Officer who died at James Town in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

It's been months since the incident happened but the Ghana Police Service and the family of the young officer are making sure the late police officer receives ertanal rest.

The final funeral right is happening with high rank officers present to pay their last tributes.

An Image of the late constable is boldly printed and placed in the middle of the funeral grounds for the observation of sympathizers.

It is all sad as tears are flowing by most people who are present. His parents cannot hold back their tears looking at the gallent uniformed police men who are present without their son.

It is a sad spectacle to behold indeed. For the officers of the Ghana Police Service, it is a general practice to provide a befitting burial for any of their personnel who dies.

However, the death of Constable Emmanuel Osei is one that affected the entire country.

He was providing escort to a bullion van when armed robbers from no where surrounded the bullion van and shot him right in the face.

They bolted with the money in the bullion van but the police officer and another bystander died on the spot.

After his death, most Ghanaians have advised the Ghana Police Service to force banking institutions to purchase quality bullion vans going forward.

It is unknown whether the call has been adhered to but some financial institutions are still using the unsecured vans.

The life of Constable Emmanuel Osei could have been spared if a secured vehicle was provided to transport the money.

He could have been saved if the police had provided enough tools to safeguard their work.

As the final funeral right is being performed for him, we can only advise the top hierarchy of the Service to ensure proper things are done going forward.

In the meantime, the police are still on a manhunt for the armed robbers who committed the act. We have been promised to keep our fingers crossed because they will be arrested in no time.

This will be one of tasks for the new IGP, COP George Dampare. The entire nation is on high alert that he would clamp down on armed robbers. Until then, may the soul of the late Constable Emmanuel Osei rest in perfect peace.
