The Ghana Police Service has announced that it has set aside a huge sum of GH¢50,000 for any citizen who will be assisting the police in identifying a 22 people who are allegedly notorious robbers.
There have been numerous incidents of robbery in the country this year with most of them coming from the southern part. A town like Kasoa have recorded a lot of cases than any other part of the country.
The bullion vans robbery and other robbery cases had lead to the investigation to sanction the perpetrators. This investigation is what has brought about the giving off of the procured amount for anyone who identifies any of the 22 persons.
The pledge was made by the Ghana Police Service together with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). The IGP himself, in the person of Mr James Oppong-Boanuh accentuated the pledge of GH¢50,000.
The terms and conditions attached to this offer are as follows;
•One will give credible information about the location of a robber.
•Give evidence of what that victim has done that shows an act of robbery.
•Will lead the police and the CID to the destination of the person(robber).
Meanwhile if you are a robber, you migth like to report yourself before someone else do that against you.
This might sound distasteful but it is better to report the robber who is even your friend to the police than to watch others being harmed by one person. It is not just about the offer, but it also shows a sign of patriotism.
Currently, names like Ampah, Busia, Dada amongst others are making the headline of the robbery gang. Any of these person's or any other named robber worth the amount stipulated above.
Meanwhile another GH¢5,000 is set aside for the investigation to retrieve a possible robbery gun. The gun described by the Police Department is an AK47 manual rifle. It says that anyone who also gives information about such item receives such amount.
These items as required are what these robbers use in their operations. There could be other guns too which they use in the execution of their operations and all of those could be identified when a possible arrest has been done with the help of the civilians.
The Ghana Police Service and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) count on the general public for their maximum support in bringing all of these ciminal perpetrators on board.
