Trotro fares to go up by 13% effective 5th June 2021.

In a letter singed by Mr. Godfred Abulbire, the General Secretary of the GPRTU of the TUC, Ghana and Mr. Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah, who is also the General Secretary of the GRTCC (Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council) and addressed to the Minister of Transport, Energy, Information, the NPRA, all Regional Coordinating Directors and all press houses, road transport fare will be increased effective Saturday 5th June, 2021.

This comes up after a crunch meeting with stakeholders to reach a 13% increment.

The new fares covers trotro, long distance and taxis as well.

A Ghc 1.00 per the new arrangement, will increase to Ghc 1.20 while Ghc 2.00 will be Ghc 2.30.

For long distance routes, Ghc 5.00 will translate into Ghc5.70 while Ghc 10.00 will be Ghc 11.30.

Below is a picture of the letter we have in hand, which was first sighted on the social media page of UTV Ghana.

Stay tuned for more.
