The Arise Ghana demonstrators according to the Ghana Police have failed to obey the orders given by the High Court leading to the damage of vehicles, and some police injured and hospitalised.
According to a statement released by the Ghana Police this evening, the demonstrators converged at the Obra Spot as directed by the High Court but refused to use the routes given.
When the police according to the statement tried to make them comply with the court order, the leaders of Arise Ghana insisted on using their own routes which led to an attack on some of the police.
Twelve police officers were injured and treated in the course and these officers have been transferred to the Police Hospital for further treatment.
The roads according to the police statement have been partially cleared but they are urging road users to bear with them and use alternative routes if possible.
They also want to assure the general public that all those who were involved in the violent demonstration will be brought to face justice.
