The Robbers Were Holding Guns: I Do Not Know How The Police Will Identify Them - Randy Abbey

Recently, there have been a number of robbery cases recieved by the police service. Just in a few months since the new IGP Dampare got into office, he has been able to foil serious robbery and murder cases, where some of the perpetrators have been apprehended by the police. However, the issue seems to be getting worse as days past as new cases are recorded daily.

It was reported that a lady was robbed in broad day light at Achimota in the Greater Accra Region. This unfortunate incident happened at a traffic light station at N1 Achimota when the lady stopped because the light had turned red, which demands that all vehicles stop. Unfortunately, she was followed by some unidentified masked men who wielded guns. From the video captured by the cameras, the robbers took away millions of money loaded in a bag.

Popular Ghanaian broadcaster who doubles as the host of Good Morning Ghana show has waded into reactions concerning the robbery and dropped more secrets. He lamented that armed robbery has become an almost uncontrollable crime in Ghana, whilst blaming it on the rising unemployment in the country.

According to Randy Abbey, the scenes captured by the video is very dangerous and called on the police to trace the criminals to bring them to book. He indicated that he has trust in the new police administration to arrest the robbers in the shortest possible time. Narrating how the incident happened according to his trusted sources, he revealed that the robbers followed the woman with a gun from a very long distance.

He said, "I have taken note of this unfortunate incident, and it is sad that this happened in broad daylight. These guys were following her from a long distance. One then went to where the hawker was standing and opened the car. I can imagine how terrified the woman would have been. They just opened the car and took away the money. They were holding guns. I don't know how the police will identify them, but they should have a way of doing that."
