Fire guts a slum in Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region as 50 people have been displaced

Fire cases have really hunt the people of Ghana especially those living in slums as it was just recently published that over 6000 fire cases has been recorded in the year 2020. But when is this misfortune ever going to seize?

Another fire case has been recorded in Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti region on Monday 28th December, 2020 around 1:30 am at dawn. The sad incident has displaced more than 50 people in the municipality.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known. Abdul Rashid, the Assembly Member for the Adukrom Electoral area disclosed his intentions of liasing with NADMO to get help for the victims.

He said, "We made a call to the Fire Service when the fire was reported. They arrived here late but they were able to put off the fire. No victim has been able to take a penny. We have also called NADMO and given us their assurance to help."

He continued, "I assure the victims that I will solicit help to support them because without the help, I just don’t see how these people will rise again."
