Day Time Robbery: 20-year old man arrested for cutting electrical cables at Kuntunse
Tahiru has been arrested this morning, for cutting electrical cables connecting electrical power from a pylon pole, to the house of Kofi Asante, at Kuntunse near Pobiman. Kuntunse is a suburb community closer to the infamous Pobiman, the homeland of Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak. Pobiman is known widely in Ghana because of their ultimate support for the team, and it is from the town that gave birth to the acronym, Phobians (Phobia). Kuntunse which is on the west of Pobiman, is a residential town for Akans and Ewes, who migrated to Accra for a prosperous living. Kofi is an Akan by birth, but migrated from Twebease to settle in Kuntunse, for a better life.
Kofi Asante since the start of this year, has been having troubles with thieves, who come to steal his electrical wires. Kofi lives in a new apartment closer to the Government School, near Ebenezer City, which is occupied by few residents and leaves. The bushy nature of the area, makes life difficult to live but Kofi who is among the first settlement residents of the area, has not given up as the area continues to develop. Kofi on 3 January 2021, went to work and came back to a total lights out house. The cables connecting his house to the nearest pylon poles, was cut and stolen.
He reported the incident to the Pobiman police post but nothing was done, since the thieves were nowhere to be found. Kofi bought new cables, and together with his friends, he was able to lay another cable to the pole to get back power. On the dawn of 22 February 2021, was when Kofi's experienced another total lights out. He thought it was a general issue, and never bothered to come out at the dawn. He found out later in the morning from his neighbour's that, light was there. He immediately checked his backyard to see if any fault has been developed from the cables they laid on the 7 January 2021, and the new cables he bought has been stolen again.
It was a devastating moment for Kofi, as he almost cried for the second time, the thieves have done the same thing to him again. The first been January 3 and the second been February 22. He made attempts of catching whoever it was, and made sure to be vigilant at his neighbourhood. He was certain, the same people will attack him again, so he set spies around. Kofi has been home the entire of March, hoping to catch the thieves and whoever was responsible. He went out to buy bread this morning, and came back and his cables were gone. The thieves has done it again, he shouted for help.
His cries for help drawn the neighborhood, who started searching the area for wanted materials in the bush, with the hope of whoever it was, hiding them in the bush. Their attempts drawn them to Tahiru, who was passing by the Kuntunse market area, when a market woman hooted at him for questions. Tahiru became angry, as to why the woman should question his right in the area. Kofi Asante was alerted of the behaviors of Tahiru, and together with others, they arrested him.
They searched him, and found identical wires of Kofi's stolen cables, together with other cables. Tahiru became stubborn to their request, and four mighty slaps, was directed to him by Kofi Asante before he confirmed, the wires were that of Kofi's. He cried of not been a thief and only cut the wires because, they were on the ground. Kofi's wires were not on the ground, but on the pylon poles, but Tahiru disagreed to climbing the electrical pole and striking down the cables.
