Police officers from Baringo south are currently looking for a middle-aged man who allegedly disfigured a baby after discovering that she was not his and that his wife had cheated on him.
According to witnesses or rather locals from Baringo, the suspect, who is currently on the run, conducted a private DNA test on the baby to ascertain her paternity after hearing rumors that she was not his.
This was followed by a dramatic scene in which the suspect returned home and immediately removed the baby from the mother, before allegedly pouring acid on the infant's face. According to additional reports, the suspect later stood at the door, attempting to prevent anyone from entering and holding a machete, ready to slaughter anyone attempting to rescue the baby.
However, the courageous woman took the initiative by shouting, alerting residents who arrived at the crime scene in an attempt to ascertain what was going on, only to discover the baby groaning in pain, which they rescued by rushing her to the hospital.
As a result, police officers from the region who responded to the incident following a tip from a concerned resident have urged residents who may have information about the suspect's whereabouts to contact the nearest police station.
