Spillage Of Excess Water From The Weija Dam

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has reported that it will start the spillage of overabundance water from the Weija Dam from Tuesday, March 30. 

"This has become vital in light of the unexpected ascent of the level of the dam from 46.2 feet to 48.1 feet inside a 24-hour time span," the Company said in an official statement on Monday, March 29. 

It clarified that the Dam works at a protected degree of 47ft yet inside a day, the level has gone up. 

It focused on that the spillage will keep the Dam from a potential breakdown. 


As of now, authorities of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), National Security, National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), and the ga South District Assembly have been advised. 

Bosses and assessment pioneers have likewise been educated "to be in availability or clear the territory to evade any inevitability". 

"By this delivery, Management of GWCL is illuminating the overall population just as foundations and associations who have properties downstream of the impending peril and thusly, should take the vital prudent steps." 

The people group that will be influenced are Tetegu, Oblogo, Pambros Salt, Lower McCarthy Hill, Lower Weija, Bojo Beach, Ada Kopey and encompassing networks.
