Ghana Health Service Take Delivery of 49 Locally-made VW Passat Cars

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Many, has presented 49 locally-assembled VW Passat vehicles to the Ghana Health Service to aid the outfit in the effective discharge of their duties. The vehicles were acquired under a hire purchase scheme with VW with the Health minister fronting for the Ghana Health Service with Government of Ghana as guarantor.

Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye who received the cars thanked the Health minister and Government of Ghana and said the vehicles will come in handy especially at the time the service is busy dealing with a pandemic. He also assured the service will do everything possible to meet the terms and conditions of the agreement which brought the cars.

The scheme, which is guaranteed by the Government of Ghana, was arranged for by the Ghana Health Service for its income-generating and self-financing health facilities to repay over a 60 month period. In total, 1,000 units of vehicles will be procured under the hire purchase arrangement, which will cover the period from 2020 to 2023.
