The Central Region's Assin Akomfode farmer, who unintentionally chopped off his scrotum while asleep, is in critical condition.
The farmer, Kofi Atta, claimed that he dreamed of cutting meat while he was asleep.
Meanwhile, he was actually cutting a portion of his male genitalia without realizing it.
The medical term for this condition is parasomnia. It is a type of sleep disorder characterized by unfavourable physical occurrences or experiences that keep you awake.
The victim's wife confirmed that her husband occasionally does a lot of activities while sleeping; some of these are talking, walking, and even fighting.
The victim was stabilized at St. Francis Xavier Hospital Assin Fosu and later referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
However, the victim's family couldn't raise the 600 cedis to fuel the ambulance, so Mr. Attah is yet to access advanced care.
