Joseph Amoah, a twenty - one year old boy who is a mobile money vendor at Ahinkofikrom a suburb of Kojokrom in the in the Sekondi -Takoradi Region has been shot dead by armed robbers.
According to sources, the young mobile money vendor was attacked in the night on Friday, April 9, 2021 as he was working.
According to eye witness, the innocent young boy was working when two young men approached him around 7:30pm to redraw money.
As the new criteria by MTN says, every one should present his or her valid Identity card before doing any money redrawal.
He asked the two young boys to present their Identity Card to carry on with the transaction but surprisingly one of them pulled out a gun and held him at gun point.
The poor boy started shouting and screaming for help but no one came to his aid because of the warning shot they heard.
The robbers proceeded by taking a the bag in which the money for the whole mobile money business was kept in.
Though, the exact amount of money the robbers made way is still not mentioned, it is estimated that they made away of about GHC800.
They then shot the Mobile money vendor in his right thigh and escaped. The Kojokrom Pics is still on the process of investigating the matter to bring the robbers to book.
The mobile money vendor has been admitted at the Kojokrom Government Hospital for treatment.
