Sene East District is a farming as well as fishing community in the Bono East Region which shares boundaries with the Oti Region through the White Volta and River Sene.
In recent times armed robbery has been a traumatizing situation which called for the attention of the government and ghanaians as a whole. The district is one of the new districts which has been carved out of the former Sene district.
In actual fact the district was supposed to be part of the Oti Region but due to the white Volta running between the district and Oti it has been combined to the Bono East Region.
The district lacks proper roads as that is the major challenge which is leading to the high rate of armed robbery in the locality. In almost every week there was usually at least a robbery case some leading to deaths.
From Atebubu to Kajaji, the district capital the road is nothing to talk about. Infact there are duck outs on the road which made the cars finding it difficult to plough the road. Due to this the robbers just attack simple with little effort and no stress at all.
The second pressing reason is inadequate security in the district. Infact if not until the robbery situation was worsening there was not any security patrolling the district except the Bassa police but they are not also adequate to patrol the whole district.
The residents are therefore crying to the government to come to their aid by constructing proper roads for them even if it's only the high way and provide them with enough police officers to curb the cancer.
