Fraud

Nana Agradaa arrested for a double fraud.

Patricia Asiedua, also known by her moniker Nana Agradaa, was taken into custody by the police after claims of a money doubling scheme were made against her by several members of the general public. The suspect is currently supporting the investigation that the police are doing.

According to a statement released by the Accra Regional Police Command, "Anyone who is a victim of the suspected money doubling fraud should report to the Accra Regional Police Command for further action to assist the investigation."

It is reported that Nana Agradaa used her television station to publicize the supposed money doubling that was about to take place at her church, Heaven Way Church in Weija, which is located in Accra.

The congregation claims that Nana Agrada stole money from them with the assurance that she would double it for them on the previous Friday, but she did not honor her pledge despite having received the money in question.

Later on, tens of thousands of her followers surrounded the church building in an attempt to retrieve their beginning funds. During her tenure as a traditional priestess, Nana Agradaa performed a rite known as "sika gari," which was renowned for its ability to generate a financial gain.

She was taken into custody not too long ago for allegedly operating two television stations known as Thunder TV and Ice1 TV, both of which were in violation of section 137 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960, by broadcasting content that encouraged people to make more money in Kasoa, which is located in the Central Region.

Concerns were raised after individuals passed themselves off as spiritualists aired inappropriate content in the media sphere. This led to the formation of this organization.

She was ultimately found guilty and given a sentence that included punishment of GHS36,000 on the charge of operating a television station without a license and a fine of GHS10,000 on the allegation of "charlatanic advertisement." Both of these charges were brought against her.

The former high priestess has now experienced a conversion and is now the pastor of Heaven Way Church in Weija, Accra, the location where the most recent fraudulent activity is alleged to have taken place.
