I live in Ghana because of Nigeria’s frequent blackouts - Nigerian reveals

Ghana-based Nigerian, Bridget James has stated that she migrated to Ghana 14 years ago due to the unstable electricity and frequent power outage in Nigeria.

In a chat on Daily Hustle on SVTV AFRICA, Bridget indicated that aside from the frequent blackouts, Nigeria at the time was not safe. As a result, Bridget decided to settle in Ghana after a few business trips.

According to Miss James, she smoothly adjusted to life in Ghana because of the similarities between both countries. Moreover, Bridget could continue her Kente business and export to Nigeria.

“First off, the light issue. I decided to stay here because of the light because I wouldn’t be staying here if there was light in Nigeria. Also, things were okay in Ghana back then. I spent only GHS5 on food, but now GHS10 is not enough.

The transport fares were affordable, and things were okay. Sometimes I even cry for the country with the way things are going. I don’t know if it is the planet that is changing,” she said.

Speaking of economic hardship, Bridget mentioned that Ghanaians must not only blame the government for the crisis. According to Miss James, Ghanaian traders make things harder by excessive pricing.
