Director General of Prisons Pays Courtesy visits to Graphic Communications Group Ltd and New Times Corporation
As part of measures to enhance cordial relationship with stakeholders, the Acting Director General of Prisons, Mr. Isaac Kofi Egyir has on Friday morning paid a courtesy call on the editors of the Daily Graphic and the Ghanaian Times.
The Acting Director General acknowledged the support of the media to the Prisons Service. He commended the two state-owned print media houses for their professionalism and objectivity, and entreated them, as major stakeholders, to highlight the exploits of the Service, especially in agriculture, education, technical and vocational training of inmates.
The editors of both media houses, Messrs. Koby Asmah and Dave Agbenu of the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times respectively expressed their gratitude to the Acting Director General and the Service for the continuous warm reception given to the media and pledged their commitment to help deepen the relationship between the Ghana Prisons Service and their respective organisations so as to enable the Service discharge its duties satisfactorily.
The Acting Director General was taken round the facilities to familiarize himself with the various departments and production process.
Mr. Egyir was accompanied by the Director of Prisons in charge of Operations, Mr. Samuel Akolbire, the Chief Public Relations Officer, CSP. Courage Atsem and some Staff of the Public Relations Unit.
Also present were some senior members of the two media houses.
