Theft robbery

A Kintampo police officer has been detained for stealing a motorcycle.

According to our sources, the Kintampo Divisional Police Command has detained a police officer for allegedly stealing a motorcycle and other items from the Ghana Police Service.

According to, Corporal Christian Adjei Boateng was apprehended after a colleague noticed him pushing a Honda motorcycle with registration number M–15–UW – 2071 across the road in front of the Police station, where a motorcycle fitting shop is located.

When the complainant and another officer arrived at the fitting shop, they discovered that the Corporal was not there. DSP Edmund Agyemang Badu, the Divisional Crime Officer, conducted a search at his Kintampo home.

“In his small room self-contained rented apartment, the search revealed the following items: 10 live AK 47 assault rifle ammunition, Body Armour, Dead Body Bag, Ballistic Helmet, and wrap of dried plant substance suspected to be narcotics,” according to a statement from the Divisional Police Command.

The suspect admitted to possessing the material, which was identified as Indian hemp, as well as the other goods.

“He smokes Indian hemp, thus the dried plant material was what he purchased for smoking,” he admitted.

He, on the other hand, has neglected to reveal his source of supply and has also failed to present any legal written authorization to hold it.

“The police officer suspect also admitted to stealing the AK 47 ammo and other police accessories but refused to say where he obtained them from,” the statement continued.

"The exhibits will be kept for further examination.”

“In the meantime, in his cautioned statement to police in the presence of an independent witness, suspect G/L/Cpl. Christian Adjei admitted to stealing the motorcycle.”

“A report shall be filed to Regional Headquarters within 48 hours,” the message continued.
