The Former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Lordina Mahama has got to the aid of a 10-year old girl abandoned by her family in Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Report according to the hospital authorities indicate that, the young girl was knocked down by a motor cyclist in September 2020 and has since been undergoing treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
But the family has since that time abandoned daughter in the hospital. The fact that you do not have the means to cater for your daughter's hospital bills does not give you the option neglect her at the hospital. It is good that, the girls identity was not given, God bless Lordina Foundation. This days because of social media, information travels faster. A lot of people have shared their genuine problems to the public and wealthy people have come to their aid.
The First Lady herself was not present but sent a delegation from her Foundation to present t-rolls, antiseptics, Milo, Milk powder, cream, powder, bottled water and an undisclosed sum of money to cater for the girl's medical bills.
The Board Secretary of the Lordina Foundation, Madam Priscilla Santuo-Ocrah, after making the presentation, reaffirmed the Foundation's commitment towards supporting needy families especially children across the country. She reiterated that the Foundation would continue to monitor the girl’s progress and ensure that her hospital needs are met.
Representatives of the management and staff at the Accident and Emergency Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital thanked the Foundation for the intervention.
