Following the visit of the Inspector-General of Police, George Akufo Dampare and some members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) to the Nkoranza Community on May 25, 2022, the police service relayed that a series of investigations have begun.

“The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) have since commenced investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of Albert Donkor”, he said.

Additionally, it said the investigation has also been extended to cover the attacks on the Police station and the rioting in the town resulting in the death of Victor Owusu and the injuries to others.

“Ballistics experts have been deployed here in Nkoranza to assist in the investigation. All the families have been contacted and they are working with the Police in the investigation by providing statements among others.”

The IGP, the statement revealed, has requested the cooperation of the families of the deceased to perform a postmortem on the bodies immediately to facilitate the completion of the investigations.
