Residents of Chorkor have been alarmed by the murder of a security guard and injuring of an old man beleived to be in his 70s. The identities of the victims are yet to be disclosed, and same is with the assailants.
It took some good Samaritan to rescue the old man lest he would have passed away from the trauma. The Police were swift in their response to the crime scene, and they quickly transported the injured old man to the Police Hospital for medical attention.
The body of the security guard has been deposited at the morgue awaiting investigations. According to the Police,the murder weapon that the unknown assailants used have been retrieved from the crime scene.
It is expected that some forensic examination would be conducted on it to track down the criminal. In the meantime, the prime witness, thus the 70-year-old man is responding to treatment and will provide details of who the assailant is.
The Crime Scene Management Team of the Ghana Police are to continue with their investigations. The Greater Accra Regional Command of the Police Service have taken over the case and shall update the public on their findings.
In such domestic violence cases a swift investigation is required lest the suspect will abscond. Every little detail that other witnesses gathered during the incident is crucial in tracking down the suspect and any person connected to this crime.
The Public have been entreated to volunteer any useful information that will help identify the assailant and any other accomplices. What remains a mystery in this case is the motive the assailant had in committing this crime.
The Police have also failed to disclose in detail, the exact place this incident occurred and the nature of weapons that have been retrieved. This has built public curiosity as they wonder who the victims are, so they could hypothesize a cause or motive the criminal had.
