The issue of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo requesting Ghanaians to donate GHS100 to build the National Cathedral is currently trending as Political Analysts and Opinion Leaders share their view of this issue. Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A Plus has fumed that anyone who donates money towards the building of this cathedral will go to hell.
He based his arguments by comparing some animal hospitals we have in the country to animal and veterinary hospitals abroad. According to him, the image below shows Achimota Government Hospital Staff Bungalow and some selected hospitals in Ghana. If this is a hospital in Ghana, then there is a big question about Ghanaians being requested to pay money towards the building of the cathedral.
A Plus also showed the image below of some animal and veterinary hospitals abroad. The hospital is soo hygienic and neat for animals as A Plus stated that "It is clear that the treatment given to animals in some countries is by far better than health workers in Ghana. Even a sick and dying dog won't be put in a place like the Achimota Government Hospital STAFF bungalow."
In view of this comparison, A Plus advised Ghanaians especially his followers not to buy into the idea of the government soliciting funds from Ghanaians to build a cathedral for God. After all, it was Akufo-Addo who promises God that he will build a National Cathedral, not Ghanaians.
He stressed that God hates 'stupid' people, in other words, God does not like people who pretend not to take care of the needy and basic necessities but use their money to build cathedrals. A Plus, therefore, said that anyone who donates money to build this cathedral will go to hell. Is he judging or saying the truth?
The Holy Scriptures said that our body is the temple of God. Meaning the body is more important to God than a physical structure. Some Ghanaians who came across this agreed with A Plus but others also said that it is about time the nurses and the doctors also donate to build hospitals in the country. It is not only the government that has the responsibility to build hospitals, so his arguments are baseless.
