The funeral rite of the late mother is taking place currently in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region with many bigwigs storming the funeral grounds to pay their last respect and express their condolences to the family of the minister.
The late Madam Georgina Oppong died at the age of 74 and was the mother of the former deputy Chief of Staff at the office of the president and current minister of Work and Housing
The funeral rite is currently being held at the Bantam primary school park which has mammoth of crowd trooping to the funeral ground.
Dr Bin Salih Hafiz who was also present at the funeral noted that it was not so easy losing a mother. He indicated that Madam Georgina Oppong was a mother, a sister, and a friend to many who have sacrificed so much for the betterment of others. She was a mother of the poor and orphans.
He extended his sincere condolences to the family and more importantly to the minister, Hon Francis Asenso Boakye.
