In Ghana, we already know that we are in the month of rainfall where many parts of the country are experiencing rainfall. Flooding has become one of the major unfavourable problems disturbing the peace of the occupants in the country.
Flooding may occur due to our attitudes like building in the pathways of water, blocking the drainage systems and other human misconducts.
Sad news which has reached my readers due to my investigations confirms that heavy rainfall which began last night on May 17th, 2021has led to the flooding in a large part of the Kumasi Sepaase community.
The victims narrated that when the time was around 11:30 pm in the night, they heard that it was raining but they never imagined that such an unforeseen circumstance can approach them.
They went into a deep sleep until when it was 4:45 am they heard that their bed was completely wet and their Six months old baby was cry. Before they realised it, the water has flooded the whole room which led them with no choice but to climb to the ceiling of the house with their baby and other children.
It is very sad to see water entering your house and destroying all your properties and leaving you in a stressful situation. I advise my reader to seek proper advice from the lands planning committees before building houses, else you might meet this same disaster in the future. Again not to build close to water bodies.
Readers can watch the video below to see how the whole scene occurred:
