A tragic case has taken place at Nzema the Western part of Ghana where a young man in his early thirties (30) whose name was given only as Kwamena Gyesi but was known by his friends as Kwamena Mason has lost his life after drowning in the Ankobra River. The sad news was reported by the colleagues of the young man who along with him were coming back from their “galamsey" operation.
According to sources, while coming back from their operation, a gallon of diesel in the possession of Kwamena fell into the Ankobra River while they were passing over and in his bid to recover the diesel, he plunged into the river but was taken away by the river's current. Another source also claims Kwamena did not go after a gallon of diesel but rather his working bag which had a piece of gold from his work had fallen into the river and he tried to retrieve it back.
The real source of how young Kwamena who left behind a young baby mama and two young children is yet to be known as the news was reported by different people. Kwamena Gyesi is a resident of Adum Dominase in the Mpohor District, also in the Western Region. May the Lord have mercy on his soul and keep his wife and toddlers safe.
