Suicides have been recorded in a number of cases recently. An electrical welder named Kofi Annan lived in Budumburam, a suburb in Ghana's Central region. He was hired by a wealthy man to build him a burglar-proof for his house worth Ghc 30,000.
He was paid in full before he started working. Thieves evaded his workshop during the night after completing the work and stole the burglarproof he designed. As a result of the pressure, the welder thought of doing something dreadful to himself.
Kofi Annan, 44, felt he wouldn't be able to get the Ghc 30,000 he needed to rebuild the burglarproof for his client, so he decided to commit suicide by hanging himself in an unfinished house nearby. When his wife discovered he was missing, she dialed his phone number, but no one answered. Her husband was not like that, so this worried her.
A search team was formed to locate Kofi Annan, the burglarproof welder, but he was discovered dead on a rope. His body was released and taken to the mortuary for an autopsy right away.
