Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II, King of the Asante Kingdom.
Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II, the King of the Asante Kingdom must speak and make a command to stop galamsey in the Ashanti Region; since his command would prove to be more effective in fighting galamsey than burning excavators.
Indeed, the fight against galamsey has, thus far, become a national unified fight since almost everyone irrespective of tribe, political affiliation, and religion seems to appears to support the idea that it is about time we stopped galamsey in Ghana.
Some galamsey operators at their site of operation.
In fact, among some of the reasons why many have advocated for galamsey to be stopped in Ghana include: the irreparable destruction of our lands, as well as, the pollution of our water-bodies; which threatens to put Ghana in a situation where we may have to import water in the future.
Considering the fact that the bulk of thess illegal mining activities is predominant in the Ashanti region, it is about time Otumfuo used his mighty influence in the Ashanti region, as the King of the whole Ashanti kingdom, to help in the fight against galamsey.
It is worthy of note that, before these illegal mining operators are able to initiate their operations, they mostly seek the permit of the paramount chief of the local area; and these paramount chiefs in the Ashanti region are all subordinates to the Asantehene.

Therefore, should Otumfuo give his word to his subjects who are the paramount chiefs of the mining areas in the Ashanti region, it will go a long way to help government in the fight against galamsey more than the current style of burning excavators at the galamsey sites.
