Ghanaians react as Police salutes the remains of two dead officers.

Just a few days ago, the Ghana police service suffered a tragic loss when two of their officers were killed in an accident, and three others were injured. This occurred on the road between Walewale and Bolgatanga. Dr. George Dampare, the Inspector General of Police, arrived in Temale the next morning to see the three severely injured. The speed with which the IGP responded drew praise from Ghanaians. According to their official page, the remains of the two officers and three other officers were airlifted to Accra yesterday.

At the Tamale Airport, a special ceremony and parade were held to bring the remains of the two officers to Accra. Images from the page showed the remains being saluted at the ceremony even as they were being transported to Accra. Ghanaians have expressed a wide range of emotions in response to this image. The following are some of the comments made by Ghanaians:

“The police service has become attractive. This is the change we need.”

“Thank u IGP the era of putting dedicated combatants who died in battlefield inside pickups buckets is gone forever,we are proud of you. God bless u Dr Dampare”

“Chai my Spirit for the service is heighten.I hope this is done for every personal who falls in line of duty.Long live GPS, Long live Ghana.RIP comrades,God protect us all.Amen”

“Mr. IGP Kudoos and May The Good Lord Be your Guide through this difficult Journey.

We pray For Your Success and Other Institutions Should also Learn From Your Leadership.

We are Grateful, You are making service Very attractive.”

These are just a few of the comments made by Ghanaians. Indeed, the Ghana Police Service is very appealing right now. These men, who died in the line of duty, have been truly honored. Thanks to the inspector general of police's strong leadership. May these valiant officers' souls rest in perfect peace.
