Police arrest six (6) robbery and murder suspects.

The Ghana Police Service have arrested 6 suspects for robbery and murder within the last 24 hours and are currently under investigation.

The suspects are Kofi Poku, Dennis Atta Asamoah Snr., Dennis Atta Asamoah Jnr., - all driver's mates, Asante Edward alias "Oboi", Dauda Appiah and Yusiif Abdullah.

In a press release issued by the Police Affairs Directorate of the Police Headquarters, preliminary investigations in the Ashanti Region indicates that suspects Kofi Poku, Dennis Atta Asamoah Snr., Dennis Atta Asamoah Jnr., - all driver's mates, Asante Edward allegedly stabbed and snatched the handbag of one Sherifa Yakubu, a 22 year old apprentice hairdresser, now deceased at Kumasi Academy SHS (KUMACA) junction, while on her way to Asokore Manpong. She died shortly on arrival at the Manhyia Government Hospital when she was rushed there.

In the Savannah Region, another case involving suspects, Dauda Appiah and Yusiif Abdullah. The suspects allegedly robbed their victim off his gold-detecting machine at gunpoint at Telekura. Other accomplices are currently on the run.

The Police after a search recovered an empty shell of G3 ammunition, a single barrel gun and a cutlass.

The suspects were arrested through intelligence-led operations and are currently in Police custody pending trial.
