Sad news hit Central Region as a 27 year old teacher allegedly commits suicide.

When you hear that someone has committed suicide, it's difficult to understand what caused them to make such a tragic decision to end their lives. And what has been happening recently is so tragic that one can only speculate as to why so many people have recently committed suicide. When people commit suicide, it has long-term consequences not just for the victims, but also for their families, friends, communities, and, to some degree, their countries.

And now just today a young lady who has been identified as Catherine Ansah, a 27-year-old teacher from Assin Fosu in the Central Region, is said to have committed suicide by hanging herself with a sponge. Catherine Ansah was discovered with a sponge around her neck in her room and friends and neighbors who went to see her couldn't hod back their tears after they heard and went to what had happened to her after.

Though no information about why she committed suicide have been released, suicide is often committed by people suffering from depression, stress, loneliness, disease, and other causes which are sometimes beyond the control of the victim and it is past time for us to recognise that suicide is a serious health issue for which we must find a solution on how best to prevent it as a country.
