The news making headlines is about the incident of toll booth issue. These days, drivers are not made to pay any tolls at any tollbooth. This comes after a directive from the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and signed by the roads minister Mr. Kwasi Amoako Attah.
Although a section of Ghanaians especially those who used to work at the tollbooth and even hawkers around seem not to be happy with it, it is in effect and drivers are not paying tolls anymore.
A video of Ghanaian comedienne and entrepreneur, Afia Schwarzenegger thanking the government for introducing such a policy has surfaced on social media.
The mother of three was sharing her ordeal and recounted the number of times she used to pay tolls at least daily. She said that she pays tolls at least three to four times in a day throughout her to and fro. She thanked the government on the cessation of road tolls collection.
In addition, she talked about the momo levy issue saying that Ghanaians would cry but later pay. She said that there is no country that can be developed without taxes hence urging Ghanaians to pay for the e-levy since we all want the country fixed.
