The Eastern Regional Police are on a manhunt for an industrial driving force, Michael Abeiku, 30, for allegedly murdering his 27-year-old spouse, Gifty Tetteh, at Oyoko in the New Juaben North Municipality.
According to the deceased's spouse and children, Michael, who had threatened to commit the crime a few months before, committed it on Thursday after accusing his wife of infidelity.
They explained that Abeiku Michael, after a brief argument with the wife, who had just returned domestic after going to live along with her mother for a while, inflicted more than one deep machete wound on her limbs, neck, breast, and knees until she bled out profusely and died before the advent of the police.
Ebenezer Boadi, the uncle of the deceased who spoke to the media, disclosed that the police had all started their investigations.
“It’s a completely sad state of affairs; they've got an unresolved problem." Some months ago, the husband threatened to kill my niece for allegedly cheating on him with a person known as "her" on a smartphone. The husband later called the man's lower back, and the two exchanged phrases. My niece, who had become scared for her life, sought a divorce, but the guy begged me to settle the matter. So we were in the process of doing that, and he simply killed my niece. The police got here to the house to take a few images and motion pictures,”
He said the kids are actually staying with their grandmother.
Meanwhile, the suspect is currently on the run after committing the dastardly act.
