7 Districts in Upper West Disconnected [Photos]

Seven Districts have been disjoined from the Regional Capital of Upper West Region, Wa after a heavy downpour affecting the entire region beginning 13th of August 2021.

The development has limited economic activities by 65% in Upper West Region due to the limited access of the Regional Capital, Wa.

Lambussie District, Lawra Municipality and Nandom Municipality have been blocked from accessing Wa through the Babile Stretch after 55 meters of the Road was washed away on the 13th of August, vehicles can no longer move beyond Babile through Nadowli to Wa.

Also People moving from Jirapa have been blocked from Accessing Nadowli as part of the Road has submerged into a larger quantity of water making it difficult to identify the road.

People of Funsi in the Wa East District cannot also Cross Over the "Wahabu" Bridge between Funsi and Kojokperi, two communities in Both Dafiama-Busie-Issa District and the Wa East District. People from Sissala East, specifically areas such as Wallembelle, Sakai and Bugubelle cannot cross over to Wa for Business. Also, People in Sissala West Will have to Pass through Naru in the Nadowli-Kaleo District, Naru has also been flooded with their Road Submerging in Water. This Means people in Nadowli Township and its environment can travel to Wa. People in Wa West District can also Visit Wa because their roads haven't been affected much. Furthermore, people in Dafiama and Issa can still come to Wa. Lastly people in Wa will not need to travel again.
