Bus driver begs for mercy after accident at Kwadaso
Kyeremeh, a bus driver of a Grand Bird bus with registration number GR-5722-20, has asked residents and pedestrians of Kwadaso for forgiveness, after his bus had an accident this morning at Opoku Ware school gate. Kyeremeh is a driver who drives from Elubo to Kumasi, and to Accra. He drives once every 24 hours, because of the nature of the journey and the long hours involved. In a week, he drives for 6 times, three for Kumasi and Accra, and another three back to Elubo. He loads from Elubo main bus station, and drives to Kumasi VIP station, where he offloads the Kumasi travellers and takes same number from the VIP station and leaves for Circle, Accra. Kyeremeh loaded his bus from Elubo last night, and was glad to get 60% Accra travellers, and 40% Kumasi travellers. He arrived in Kumasi at dawn, and was hoping to arrive at Asafo VIP station, where he would have offloaded the 40% Kumasi travellers and replace them with same 40% Accra travellers, when he got into an accident.
At Santaasi was where a female traveller got down at 4:30am this morning from the bus, and Kyeremeh who was going within his speed limit, kept the same speed to avoid landing in traffic. Just after Santaasi where the female traveller got down, was where a surprise accident hit Kyeremeh and his bus. In front of the big gate of Opoku Ware School, on the slope leading to Star Junction, was when the tyres of the driver side bus went loose and ejected onto the midnight free way. Kueremeh almost lost the bus when the tyre ejected and went free, but was able to halt his brakes without killing anyone.
Only two people got minor cuts, from the accident which happened as a result of the loose tyre, but the driver kept all of them safe and was able to park at Star Junction, after ascending the Opoku Ware slope. The tyre which ejected at Opoku Ware School big gate, travelled from there on the free road, until it got to Kwadaso Beer team bar. A night bar which had stop operating because of the ban on bars, was hit by the tyre which travelled from Opoku Ware School gate. In the club was seven people who were all asleep, when the tyre hit the bar, but none of them suffered any serious injuries, except few properties.
Three gates which served as s barrier in the bar, was no match to the tyre, a flat screen television, sounds system and a freezer, were all destroyed by the tyre. It took the driver three hours, before they were able to locate the tyre. Passengers and the driver made contributions, which accounted for all the properties which was destroyed by the tyre. The driver asked the people for their forgiveness, as it wasn't intentional, when the people tried to beat him over his accident. The bar operator, Nancy thanked the bus driver and the passengers for their contribution to the destroyed properties.
