The Ghana police service are on the highway controlling traffic as to reduced high rate of accident on the road. But the notorious drivers are still killing innocent souls day in and day out. The streets of Akyem Begoro where hit with shocking news as five persons feared dead in a gory accident at Fanteakwa North district.
The incident happened on Wednesday 18th May 2022 at 4 :20 pm.
According to an eyewitness, the information from him indicates that a 34 seater blue Benz bus with registration number GR 4074 - E loaded with maize,yam and charcoal with some few passengers fell into a pit while negotiating a sharp curve at Begoro. The vehicle has been damaged beyond repairs.
Three persons died on the spot. The rest were rescued by the Ghana fire service crew from Begoro fire station and were sent to Begoro government hospital but later two others were pronounced dead on their arrival.
The Eastern regional police Commander DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said effort is being made to tow the accident vehicle from the pit.
