There were rumors in the afternoon that host of Onua Maakye, Captain Smart had been arrested. Though the reasons were not clear many reasoned that it might be due to something that he had said. Captain is noted for his many words which sometimes goes extreme. He is a vociferous critic of the incumbent government and has for some time lambasted both the NDC and the NPP for the way they have handled the economy of the country.
The Police have this evening released a press communique on the rumors surrounding Captain Smart. According to a letter signed by Deputy Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Captain Smart was arrested for certain unwarranted comments of his that are deemed to affect the peace and security of the country. Captain Smart in many of his commentaries has noted that he will never ask for a coup but very soon the citizens will rise when things get to the worse. The exact words of his that caused his arrest are yet to be revealed.
According to the police, Captain Smart has been cautioned for his offensive conduct and is assisting the Police as to why he said what he said. Ghanaians await to see what will happen to him. it is yet to be seen whether he will be arraigned before a court or the caution is enough.
