Court proceedings have ended, sentence has been read by the judge and the convict sent to prison to begin her sentence. Akuapem Polo has been sentenced to 90 days in prison by the Circuit Court in Accra. Her sentence was based on three count which included publication of obscene material and engaging in domestic violence.
She had already pleaded guilty to all charges and her sentence was to 90 days which is equivalent to 3 months on each count which the court indicated must run concurrently. The Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Christiana Cann, bemoaned the prominence of nudity on the Ghanaian media space and indicated it's time for the court to act.
Angel FM and TV female court correspondent Ama Brakoh Ampofoh, narrated what transpired in court on the network's evening news. She described emotional Akuapem Polo as remorseful and was crying. The family members of the accused present were her mother, child and sister.
She however, indicated that the 7 years old son of Akuapem Polo didn't enter into the court room but was around the premises in a room reserved for kids. She opined that the boy approach them dancing when they were sitting and said " Auntie, I will take yoghurt."
She said that made them laugh and as innocent as the boy was he didn't even know what was happening in court.
