The year had almost ended and Ghana has recorded over 3000 car accidents just this year. Out if this number, over 2000 Ghanaians have lost their lives. There have been several cautions against speeding, overtaking and other road safety measures but some drivers seem to over rule on them.
In today's article, let us look at some top five fatal and sad incidents that happened on our roads.
#5. Nine persons die in Gindabuo
This said incident happened in Gindabuo, a town in the Savannah region. Nine persons unfortunately died on the spot. This happened in December, 2021. According to the police, the driver of the bus allegedly lost control over the steering wheel and veered off the road killing nine persons.
#4. Accra - Kumasi Highway accident claims the live of five persons.
This sad incident took the lives of five and also injured five persons. This accident involved a Hyundai H100 minibus and a stationary Man Diesel truck at Suhum Omenako along the Accra to Kumasi Highway in the Eastern Region. This sad incident happened in July, 2021.
#3. Seventeen(17) die in Offinso- Abofour road
On 1st November, 2021, 17 persons were confirmed dead after a collision between a man diesel vehicle and a sprinter bus. Forty four persons were also injured. This sad incident incident happened in the Offinso to Abofour road in the Ashanti region.
#2. Sixteen people dead in a fatal accident at Akim Asafo
This sad incident happened on 26th February, 2021. This was also a collision of two vehicles causing several lives and injuries. This happened in Akim Asafo in the Eastern region
#1. Eight persons die in Bodi.
It was a sad day at Bodi, a community in the Sawla district when a springer bus somersaulted and crashed inside the bush. This accident occurred after the tyre of the bus burst. Eight persons sadly died on the spot
