In a post sighted by on the official Facebook page of the Ghana Police Service, state that the programme has been implemented in 15 out of the 16 operational regions.

Buses have, therefore, been deployed on designated routes with pick-up and drop off points to ensure the safe and easy transportation of personnel, as well as to ensure that personnel who carry weapons for duty, do so under safe conditions.

The general public had expressed concern about the practice of Ghana Police personnel boarding commercial vehicles (taxi, trotro) with weapons and the possible danger posed to other occupants of these vehicles.

Also Uniformed officers struggling to get onboard vehicles during the rush hour is not good for morale in the service and does not inspire public confidence in the police.
