Three persons have been comfirmed dead in a tragic accident involving a bus loaded with goods and 24 passengers. The gory accident happened at about 5am this morning in a community called Nantey in the Kintapo South District.
From the middle to the back seats of the bus was fully loaded with goods while 24 passengers occupied the remaining seats.
The driver of the bus according to a close source was drinking an energy drink while holding on with the steering wheel with one hand. Unfortunately, he bumped into a speed ramp which he obviously did not notice ahead of him, with the bus somersaulting.
The driver and the passengers were trapped in the bus with the goods sitting on them. Consequently, part of the vehicle had to be demobilised to offload the goods in order to remove those who were trapped inside.
According to the Bono East Regional NADMO administrator, Mr Muniru Yaro who was at the scene with others to assist in the rescue exercise, the injured victims have been sent to the Kintapo Goverment Hospital for treatment with the help of the National Ambulance Service.
