Kasoa Murder Case: “Go Slow on your suggestions” – Gabby Otchere Darko cautions critics.

The owner and publisher at the New Statesman Newspaper, Gabby Otchere Darko, has waded into the public discussion regarding the unfortunate murder of a 10-year-old boy at Kasoa

The boy was allegedly killed by his friends for money rituals.

According to Gabby Otchere Darko, people should be circumspect about their suggestions on the issue. This is because only two young men have been accused of committing such a diabolic act despite millions of teenagers in Ghana.

“There are over 5 million teenagers in Ghana. Two among the lot are accused of committing the shocking and abominable murder of a boy for alleged ritual purposes”, he said.

Therefore, critics should be slow to attribute this fiendish act to a fictitious general anomaly of premature acquisition of wealth that is engrained in our society.

“However, we should go slow on suggesting that this somehow represents a horribly new phenomenon of moral decadence to do with some premature pursuit of greed that has suddenly gripped our society, destroying the innocence of our teenagers. Ghanaian adolescents have not all of sudden started committing heinous crimes in search of quick cash. Let’s not use one isolated incident to suggest a phenomenon”, he said.

He further expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.

He wrote this on Facebook today.
