
It appears the new Inspector General Of Police, Dr. George Akkufo Dampare is not leaving any stone unturn in his efforts to fight crime in the Country.
Since hid appointment and subsequent swearing in as IGP, Dr. Dampare has instituted a lot of strategies to defeat crime in the Country.
The latest strategy by the Inspector General Of Police is the outdooring of a new unit of the Police Service to fight against crime in the Country.
The K-9 unit of the Ghana Police Service today commenced its as operations as part of the proactive and preventive policing strategy.



Under the new strategy by the K-9 unit, personnel will be deployed at vantage points to undertake patrols.
This component of policing is aimed at increasing the visibility of personnel and improving intelligence gathering as well as tracking of contraband goods.
The Police Service under Dr. Dampare has indicated that, it shall continue to pursue multiple security and visibility modules to increase the fight against crime in the Country.
