According to the aggrieved youth who vandalized properties on Saturday, the protest comes as a result of the frequent heartlessness of the residents by the police officers in the Tamale metropolitan assembly.
The protesters marched through the principal streets of Tamale to the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) and destroyed some properties of the power distribution company.
They also destroyed some parts of the police buildings by throwing stones and breaking the glasses, doors, windows, and even some cars at the station.
According to the former assembly member, Haruna Mohammed “The youth are not happy with the developments happening in Tamale. This is to show their anger to their leaders. That is why we have traditionally come to the Chief’s palace to express our concerns in a law-abiding manner”.
This happened in Tamale yesterday.
