Rainfall in Ghana has been the reingning topic in Ghana now due to we being in the rainy season and this has caused a lot of problem for Ghanaians.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (Ghana Meteo ) has warned Ghanaians especially those in southern part of the country to prepare for flood as the country Ghana, is set to see more rainfall.
According to Joshua Asamoah, a meteorologist at Ghana Meteo, the heavy rainfall has currently being seen in the northern parts of the country will gradually move to the southern part of the country.
He indicated that, the rainy season thus year has stretched because the dry season came earlier.
Usually, we would have seen this common weather in August but this year there was a bit of a lag with the dry season coming earlier this year. The August wearther we normally see or experience before we get to the minor/ small rainy season did not occur
The transition will be persistent for a long period of time, so we expert that by the end of September, place in the middle belt will start getting frequent rainfall before it gets to the coast somewhere in October.
" We should use the opportunity to prepare for the flooding due to how poor our drainage systems are" Asamoah is quoted to have said in an interview on Citi news.
The meteorologist further stated that people living in low lying areas must seriously consider evacuating or leaving to search for places at the high ground or else when there is a heavy downpour in these particular areas been mentioned, the flood can cause people to loose their properties and lives maybe even loosed due to this accident or natural disaster.
So all citizens or the public in these low lying grounds must adhear to this information to protect their lives from danger.
