Taxes are a compulsory contribution to state revenue, levied by the government on workers' income and business profits, or added to the cost of some goods, services and transactions.
We always pay taxes but we've not been seeing sometimes. When you visit a mall and purchase a good, a fee which is the tax has already been deducted or accumulatedly added to your cost of payment.
The ones we normally see are the price of fuels, electricity and others. The reason why taxes in Ghana have increased is that, the Government has reduced the prices of items including food items such as bag of rice, oil and others.
Also, a feature will soon resume in which Government will be giving loans without interest been collected. There is also a long period of payment after the date which the money was been received.
We all know what taxes are used for but let me point out a few, taxes are used to help improve the nation. All these reasons constitutes to the increment of taxes.
