Police Grab Asare Bediako For Killing OC Taxi Driver

It seems the Ghana Police Service is wild awake in clamping down on people who have decided to disturb the peace of others. For some time now the Ghana Police Service has been announcing the arrests of fraudsters, murderers, armed robbers, and many others. Just recently, some police officers alleged to have engaged in acts of demanding monies from some innocent Ghanaians on their normal night patrol duties were grabbed and are in court facing their crimes. Their conduct falls contrary to the ethics of the Ghana Police Service.

The Police have once again announced the arrest of another person. Emmanuel Asare Bediaku hails from Kumasi and has been fingered in the killing of a taxi driver who is also known as Kofi Pepra. Residents in the Ashanti Region refer to this Taxi driver who was murdered as the OC driver. According to the police report, the incident happened at Amafrom CPC in Kumasi.

The suspect who is currently in the custody of the Police is said to have engaged the services of others in committing the heinous crime on the morning of June 8, 2021. The suspect, Emmanuel Asare Bediaku who is thirty years has given the names of his accomplices to the Police. Investigations are currently ongoing to unravel the main reason for the crime. Items belonging to the taxi driver with registration number AS 4680-20 were retrieved from Asare Bediaku. They include a mobile phone and other valuable items.

The Police are assuring residents not to feel intimidated in reporting criminals. According to them, informants who boldly report crime suspects will have their identities protected.

“The Police assures informants of the strict confidentiality and therefore continue to urge the public to assist in ensuring the safety of communities with credible information. The Police have therefore assured residents and family members of the late taxi driver of justice. They indicate that efforts are underway to arrest the other accomplices”. Part of the Police statement indicated.
